François-René Castellani was born in an old fishermen family of Piana, a true passionate man of his region. François-René founded the first sea company in Piana to make you discover the most secret places, the reservation of Scandola, the village of Girolata and Piana coves. Between a “scrape the rocks “trip and commentaries mingling fauna, flora, anecdotes and history, the most isolated creeks will astound you by their beauty.
As a professional guide for sporting fishing, François René organizes trips around the West coast of Corsica.

A family history
Originally, Piana population lived exclusively on pastoral and agricultural activities. Larousse dictionary published in 1928 referred to the growing of vineyards and the quality of its muscat wine in the region.
By the beginning of the XXth century, the regular seasonable attendance and then its settlement of many fishermen families coming from Calvi helped develop fishing and will witness the development , in the 50ies, of score of crews, my grandfather and uncle are part of them.
The marina of Ficaghjola, the only beach in the cove of Piana, is both accessible by sea or a path. It still presficerves vestiges of the past and shelters the houses of men fishing crawfish. Pride of my family, it takes care of the heritage that transmits from generation to generation.
